Guidelines for Guests|Riders

  • Children must be at least 7 years old to ride – no exceptions.
  • Riders must ride on their own horse (children cannot ride with an adult).
  • Riders 15 years of age or younger MUST be accompanied by an adult participant.
  • Riders under the age of 18 MUST have a release signed by a parent or guardian.
  • The weight of the rider combined with the horse’s tack must not exceed 250lbs.
  • Riders must wear closed toed shoes that either lace up or are boots (no crocs, clogs, sandals, flip flops, or UGGs).
  • Riders must wear long pants.
  • All Riders are encouraged to wear a helmet.
  • All Riders under the age of 18 must wear a helmet (provided).
  • Riders required to wear a helmet can bring a bicycle helmet.
  • All Riders MUST sign a Liability/Health Release.
  • Reservations are required.

Back Country Riding

About Reservations

We strongly recommend making reservations at least 24 hours in advance. Reservations must be made by phone. We do not accept reservations by email. We rarely have same-day rides available, but it does happen from time to time. Please call us to inquire about scheduling your ride.

Rides may be canceled (or rescheduled) due to high temperatures, heavy rain, extreme weather conditons or fire. When conditions allow, riders will be notified of a cancellation no later than 9pm the evening prior to the day of their scheduled ride. Riders are not financially responsible for the ride in the event the ride is canceled by Double R Ranch.
